Chief, Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Director, Diagnostic Services
Lakeridge Health is seeking a visionary and forward-thinking leader to serve as Chief of Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Director, Diagnostic Services. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of diagnostic services across a rapidly growing health system, leading a full spectrum of imaging modalities including CT, MRI, PET-CT, ultrasound, mammography, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and X-ray—all integrated to deliver timely, high-quality patient care.
Home of the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre (DRCC), imaging at Lakeridge Health is central to world-class oncology care, supporting innovative cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, precision medicine, and providing seamless collaboration with oncologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams. Imaging at Lakeridge Health also plays a vital role in medical education, providing an outstanding learning environment for medical trainees and other health professions students from partner academic institutions.
In this role, you will drive the strategic direction of diagnostic services, embedding operational excellence, quality improvement, and patient-centered care across multiple sites in alignment with Lakeridge Health’s vision of One System. Best Health. As an academic leader, you will strengthen education and training in diagnostic imaging, supporting competency-based learning, mentorship, and interprofessional collaboration to prepare the next generation of clinicians. You will also champion innovation, including imaging informatics, AI-enabled workflows, and unified PACS systems, ensuring that technology enhances both efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
The Chief and Medical Director will foster a positive culture of collaboration, mentoring, and continuous professional development, integrating academic and research initiatives into clinical workflows. Partnerships with academic institutions will advance both education and research in imaging and oncology, supporting clinical trials, novel imaging protocols, and the development of future healthcare professionals through robust teaching and supervisory roles.
We understand that exceptional leaders come from diverse professional paths. If your experience and vision align with the purpose and scope of this role, we encourage you to apply. This is a unique leadership position for someone ready to influence the evolution of diagnostic imaging in a large community hospital environment with a strong academic and research mandate—driving excellence in patient care, innovation, and medical education.
