All Student Volunteer Recruitment - Closed

Recruitment Update

Thank you for the incredible interest in our Summer Student Volunteer Program 2026. We appreciate the enthusiasm and care our student community has shown.

At this time, student recruitment is full as we carefully review the many applications we have received. Students who have already applied will be contacted by March 2 if selected to move forward with an interview. Due to the high volume of interest, only those selected will be contacted.

We are grateful for the time and interest students have shared with us and encourage interested students to check out this webpage regularly.

Adult Volunteer Recruitment – On Pause

Please note: Recruitment for adult volunteers in our retail roles remains open (hospital gift shops, cafes, and off-site stores).

Thanks to an overwhelming response to the reopening of recruitment in February for individuals not in school, of any age, it is prudent to hold off on accepting any more applications or conducting interviews at this time.

The commitment of Durham Region citizens to Lakeridge Health is truly overwhelming—thank you sincerely!

Please check back on this page in early July, as planning for Fall 2026 will begin, and we hope we can offer you a volunteer role you will feel excited and inspired by. Volunteer impact across Lakeridge Health truly matters and makes a difference.

For information about our volunteer roles, please visit Volunteer Roles | Lakeridge Health

If you have any general questions in the meantime, please feel free to email volunteer@lh.ca.

Why Volunteer?

Studies have shown that volunteerism improves health by strengthening the body, improving mood and lessening stress. Additionally, volunteering can increase self-esteem, enhance various skills and expand career paths.
