Community Advisory Panels
As volunteer advisors to the Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees, Community Advisory Panels (CAPs) play an integral role in highlighting community needs and defining the services that are most important to the diverse communities of Durham Region.
Guided by Lakeridge Health’s Vision of One System. Best Health., CAP members have a voice in the way services are delivered and help to create a health system that serves Durham Region’s diverse communities well into the future.
Lakeridge Health has four geographically based CAPs (Ajax Pickering, Clarington, North Durham, and Oshawa Whitby). CAP members serve for a three-year term, with the option to renew for two terms.
Each CAP provides input and advice to the Board of Trustees at Lakeridge Health, shares information between the organization and the community, and brings forward community-specific concerns, questions, and suggestions. CAPs complement the work of more than 8,700 dedicated staff, physicians, and volunteers at Lakeridge Health who support patients and families every day.

We are inviting applications for our Ajax Pickering, Clarington, North Durham and Oshawa Whitby Community Advisory Panels (CAPs). CAP members are volunteer advisors who bring local perspectives to Lakeridge Health and its Board of Trustees.
You do not need to work in health care to contribute. Your experience as a patient, caregiver, neighbour or community member matters. We welcome eligible applicants from all backgrounds and especially encourage people whose perspectives are underrepresented on their local panel to apply.
There are currently membership openings on the North Durham and Oshawa Whitby panels. Applications are also welcome to strengthen representation across all four CAPs.

Help bring the perspectives of Clarington’s communities to Lakeridge Health. We welcome applications that will strengthen representation across the municipality, including from people who live or work in Orono.
We have membership openings on the North Durham panel. We welcome applications from across North Durham. To further enhance the diversity of the North Durham CAP, we especially welcome applications from individuals who self-identify with any of the following attributes (though all are encouraged to apply):

Residents or workers in Uxbridge

First Nations, Métis and Inuit community members

Members of racialized and visible minority communities

Adults under 35 and those aged 45-55

Members of LGBTQIA2S+ communities

We have membership openings on the Oshawa Whitby panel. We welcome applications from both communities and especially encourage people who live or work in Oshawa to apply. To further enhance the diversity of the Oshawa Whitby CAP, we especially welcome applications from individuals who self-identify with any of the following attributes (though all are encouraged to apply):
