Lakeridge Health’s Critical Care Response Team Course brings the learning to the learners at Participating Hospitals across Ontario
Lakeridge Health’s Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) course is well-known for its expert content and instructors and has become a system leader in critical care education. Over the last several years, many hospital partners have regularly sent staff to Lakeridge Health to learn how to improve their critical care response at their respective hospitals.
Now, for the first time, Lakeridge Health is taking this expertise and the success of its in-house Critical Care Response Team course on the road. This additional new format for the CCRT course provides on-site, hands-on critical care response education and instruction at participating hospitals across Ontario.
Lakeridge Health’s CCRT course instructor team is led by Dr. Carol Redstone, Critical Care Medicine Specialist and ICU Physician, Shelley Hynes, Director of the Emergency Department, Jane Heath, Respiratory Therapist, and Kaitlyn Da Silva, Course Administrator. The team was recently welcomed at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. The southern-Ontario hospital became the inaugural stop for the new “traveling” CCRT course.
Like its in-house version, the CCRT course, on the road, provides health-care teams with the skills and expertise to respond quickly and effectively to critically ill patients across their organization. The course was developed by Dr. Randy Wax, Chief of Staff, Lakeridge Health, and Dr. Carol Redstone.
