Message from the President and CEO, Chief of Staff, and Board Chair

At Lakeridge Health, we believe health care is about more than hospitals. It’s about people, partnerships, and connections. And it’s about building a system of care that meets people where they are, whether in hospitals, homes, schools, clinics, or communities across Durham Region. 

This Annual Report, Care Without Boundaries, reflects an important chapter in that evolution. 

Today, Lakeridge Health is one of Ontario's largest and fastest-growing community health systems – five hospitals, a long-term care home, a community surgical centre, and more than 30 community sites serving over 750,000 people across Durham Region and beyond. Guided by our vision of One System. Best Health., we are transforming how care is delivered: extending services beyond hospital walls and strengthening partnerships that improve access, outcomes, and experiences for patients and families. 

Throughout 2025/2026, we advanced that transformation in meaningful ways. 

We deepened regional mental health and addictions care through our partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), while also recognizing five years of integrated care with Durham Mental Health Services.  

We also made meaningful gains in operational performance – helping patients move through the system more efficiently, reducing emergency department pressures, and strengthening staffing stability.  

Another key milestone this year was the launch of our This is Lakeridge Health campaign – a storytelling engine that is raising awareness of the breadth of services available right here in Durham Region and connecting more people to the care they need close to home. 

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, foundations, donors, and community partners. Their compassion strengthens our health system every day. 

As Durham Region continues to grow, we remain focused on building a stronger, more connected future – one centred on the people and communities we serve.
