DIVISION HEAD, Addictions Medicine
Lakeridge Health is seeking an exceptional physician leader to serve as Division Head, Addictions Medicine.
Reporting to the Department Chief, Psychiatry and Medical Director, Mental Health and Addictions, the Division Head provides clinical and administrative leadership for Addictions Medicine across Lakeridge Health. This includes ensuring high-quality, evidence-based, and person-centered care; fostering academic and research excellence; supporting the well-being and professional development of team members; and advancing our system vision of One System, Best Health.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
· Proven leadership experience within a hospital or health-system context;
· Expertise in Addictions Medicine, with certification and active membership in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO);
· Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement, and patient safety;
· Interest in teaching, research, and innovation aligned with Lakeridge Health’s growing academic mission; and
· A leadership style that exemplifies integrity and psychological safety.
· Proven commitment to quality, teamwork, IDEAA, and health equity & population health principles.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be an active member of the Lakeridge Health Credentialed Staff within the Department of Surgery and in good standing (or eligible).
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, professionalism, and health equity.
- Have experience working within hospital-based surgical programs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrate leadership experience or a willingness to pursue formal leadership development.
Experience in quality improvement, program development, workforce planning, medical leadership, or surgical operations is considered an asset.
