The Opportunity

We are recruiting one Plastic Surgeon to support weekly access to hospital-based outpatient minor surgery clinics, hand/fracture clinics (supported by physio/occupational hand therapists and casting technicians), dedicated main operating room time, and participation in our well-established comprehensive breast and microsurgical reconstructive surgery program.

The role may include:

  • Clinical care in outpatient clinics, fracture clinics and operating room time
  • Participation in on-call / weekend coverage
  • Collaboration within a multi-site, interprofessional care environment
  • Participation in quality improvement, program development, and system transformation
  • Teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and other learners

Qualifications

Required

Applicants must:

  • Hold, or be eligible for, independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Be certified, or eligible for certification, in RCPSC in Plastic Surgery
  • Be eligible for hospital privileges at Lakeridge Health
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred, and equitable care
  • Work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment

Preferred / Assets

Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:

  • Interest or experience in medical education, teaching, or preceptorship
  • Interest or experience in quality improvement or program development
  • Experience in multi-site or high-volume clinical environments
  • Interest in leadership, mentorship, or academic program development

·       Interest in all aspects of community plastic surgery is an asset. There are resources available for both alloplastic and microsurgical breast reconstruction to interested candidates.

Support for Internationally Trained Physicians

Lakeridge Health welcomes applications from internationally trained physicians who meet, or are eligible to meet, Ontario licensure and certification requirements for independent practice.

Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in Canada, including Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid Canadian work permit.

  • Compensation model: OHIP / stipend
