At Lakeridge Health, we believe in being open and accountable. That’s why we share key financial information with our community—patients, families, staff, and the public—so everyone can see how we manage resources.

This practice also reflects the Ontario government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the public sector.

What is whistleblowing?  

Whistleblowing is the reporting of serious wrongdoings including immoral, illegal, or unethical behaviors, or where the individual who reports in good faith may not feel safe to speak up directly due to perceived or actual threat of reprisal or retaliation.   

Examples or serious wrong-doings and unethical behaviours can include: 

  • Manipulation or falsification of data, financial reporting, and accounting​. 

  • Violations of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures​. 

  • Unethical conduct and conflict of interest​. 

  • Fraud, theft, or bribery​. 

  • Activities that could pose a risk to data, data security, or privacy of information​. 

  • Serious harm to people, the environment, and property​. 

  • Organizational issues, such as concerns with benefit or compensation practices, quality of products and services, or the actions or inactions of leadership​. 

  • Situations where retaliation or reprisal occurs (i.e., whistleblower protection). 

How to report: 

Reports can be made via Lakeridge Health’s confidential third-party service provider, ClearView Connects™:​ 

  1. Over the phone through the Clearview Connects™ dedicated toll-free number for Lakeridge Health: 1-855-897-2992​. 

  1. By mail through the confidential post office box at: ClearView Connects P.O. Box 11017 Toronto, Ontario, M1E 1N0.  

All reports submitted through the whistleblower process will be carefully reviewed. They may follow up with the reporter if more information is needed and will assign it to be thoroughly investigated by the most appropriate leaders and expert stakeholders, ensuring there is no conflict of interest.
