Parking at Bowmanville Hospital is changing to make way for construction of the redeveloped hospital. A large part of the existing parking area will become a construction site, requiring new and temporary parking arrangements throughout redevelopment.

What’s Changing
Parking will continue to be available at and around Bowmanville Hospital through a combination of existing and new parking areas.
The temporary parking arrangements will include:

- Parking at the existing Bowmanville Hospital site.
- A new parking lot on Queen Street.
- A new purpose-built temporary lot.
Accessible and Priority Parking
Accessible and priority access to Bowmanville Hospital will be maintained throughout the transition.
Accessible parking will remain at the existing hospital site, closest to the hospital.
A limited number of short-stay spaces will also remain available for urgent or priority needs.

Why is the temporary parking lot needed?
The temporary parking lot at 2 Church Street is needed to help keep Bowmanville Hospital operating throughout construction of the upcoming redevelopment. As construction progresses, existing parking areas will be affected. Temporary parking is needed so patients, visitors, staff and physicians can continue to access the hospital while we build the expanded Bowmanville Hospital.
How is the Fletcher heritage tree being protected?
Protecting the designated Fletcher heritage tree has been an important part of planning for the site. Measures are being put in place to protect the tree during construction, including protective fencing and a 33-metre protection zone.
How will construction impacts on neighbouring residents be minimized?
