Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Parking and Access

Parking changes are anticipated to begin in November 2026.

Parking at Bowmanville Hospital is changing to make way for construction of the redeveloped hospital. A large part of the existing parking area will become a construction site, requiring new and temporary parking arrangements throughout redevelopment.

New parking arrangements are anticipated to begin in November 2026. Please check this page regularly for the latest Bowmanville Hospital parking and access information.

What’s Changing

Parking will continue to be available at and around Bowmanville Hospital through a combination of existing and new parking areas.

The temporary parking arrangements will include:

    • Parking at the existing Bowmanville Hospital site.
    • A new parking lot on Queen Street.
    • A new temporary staff lot at 2 Church St.

Accessible and Priority Parking

Accessible and priority access to Bowmanville Hospital will be maintained throughout the transition.

Accessible parking will remain at the existing hospital site, closest to the hospital.

A limited number of short-stay spaces will also remain available for urgent or priority needs.

Parking Lot Safety

Lakeridge Health parking lots are for the exclusive use of Lakeridge Team members with parking permits and visitors paying for parking. For safety, children and adults alike should avoid using any parking lot as a passage route and should instead use appropriate designated walkways and sidewalks.

What Happens Next

Planning continues for the transition to the new parking arrangements. As details are confirmed, this page will be updated with additional information to help team members, patients, families and visitors prepare for the changes.

Parking Updates
