Central Connect allows patients and health-care providers to easily make new referrals into the Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) program.

Health-care providers and patients can:

A member of the Central Connect team will begin the intake process to find the right services, delivered by the right people, in the right place. Patients who are currently receiving care in the Mental Health and Addictions program and their health-care providers can continue to contact those services directly.

Central Connect is an important part of Together, Best Mental Health – our multi-year plan to deliver an integrated system of mental health and substance use care in Durham Region.

These specially trained responder volunteers provide: 

  • Emotional support and encouragement;
  • Crisis management;
  • Suicide risk assessment;
  • Community resource/referral information; and
  • Emergency intervention.

Need support for substance use?

The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic offers fast access to substance use care.

Walk-In Hours:

  • Pinewood Centre, 300 Centre St. S, Oshawa, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Oshawa Hospital, 1st floor (next to the GAIN Clinic), Wednesday & Friday, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Virtual RAAM

The Virtual RAAM is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No appointment is necessary. Through this online portal, an Addictions Counsellor will assess a client’s needs and goals and coordinate a service plan. This may include referrals to counselling and withdrawal management programs or in-person appointments. The Virtual RAAM will complement the traditional, in-person clinic at Pinewood Centre.

And the needs of the people we serve are only growing. Together, Best Mental Health is the organization’s three-year plan to address the needs of our communities and deliver a more integrated system of mental health and substance use care in Durham Region.
