Child & Adolescent Inpatient Program (CAIP)

The Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program offers short-term hospitalization to assess and treat acute mental health and/or addictions concerns. Assessment and treatment are provided by a multidisciplinary team and focuses on symptom management and functional improvement, with a timely return to community for ongoing treatment/care needs. Medication management and/or therapeutic engagement in individual or group format, are the primary approaches during hospitalization.

If hospitalization is necessary, we offer short-term inpatient care to assess and stabilize the child or youth and educate the family regarding potential diagnoses, management and how to move forward with treatment.

Admission to this unit can only be arranged by a psychiatrist.
