Emergency Services

This program provides assessment for adults and youth experiencing a mental health and/or addictions crisis. 

Service is provided by an interdisciplinary team which may include nurses, social workers, child and youth counselors, psychiatrists and physician assistants. 

Following assessment, CIT collaborates with the emergency department physician and/or Psychiatrist to develop an appropriate disposition. Disposition may include discharge, with or without referral to community services, or inpatient admission to the mental health inpatient unit.

The clinic offers mental assessment, collaborative recovery planning options, referrals, education, and mental health system navigation. Possible prompt referral for assessment with a psychiatrist.
