Amputee Rehabilitation
Amputee Rehabilitation at Lakeridge Health offers consultation, assessment and treatment to individuals living in the community after a lower limb amputation. This program helps individuals with a lower limb amputation recover and optimize function through the development and implementation of a personalized treatment plan. Treatments plans may include education, exercise program, and gait re-training with a lower limb prosthesis.
Referrals are accepted from both individuals who have received care from Lakeridge Health or an external acute care facility. Referrals must be made by a specialist (i.e. orthopedic surgeon, physiatrist) using the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centre: Outpatient Physiotherapy Referral Form.
