Volunteer Recruitment Update

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Lakeridge Health. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm and support from our community and have recently ended a successful recruitment campaign for in-hospital and long-term-care patient and resident-facing activities.

Effective October 31, 2025, recruitment will focus solely on new adult volunteers in Auxiliary/Association retail areas. These volunteers work as part of a team, provide customer service, and help raise funds that support the hospital.

  • Hospital Cafés
  • Hospital Gift shops
  • Two off-site “Nearly New” - New to You Store (Bowmanville) and Camille's Closet (Port Perry)

Student applications are currently on hold.

Looking Ahead

For all other volunteer opportunities, please check back in the New Year for updates on our opportunities. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we hope you will consider applying when recruitment reopens.

Why Volunteer?

Studies have shown that volunteerism improves health by strengthening the body, improving mood and lessening stress. Additionally, volunteering can increase self-esteem, enhance various skills and expand career paths.
