Summer Student Volunteer Program 2026 – Now Open
Program Overview:
The Summer Student Volunteer Program will run for 8 weeks from July 6, 2026, through August 31, 2026.
To apply, you must:

Be 16 years of age or older by the first day of the program

Be currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary education
Program Details:

The Summer Student Volunteer Program will run for 8 weeks, from July 6, 2026, through August 31, 2026.

Volunteers must commit to two shifts per week (2–4 hours per shift, depending on the role). Students should be available Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM during the placement process; after placement, volunteers only need to be available for their assigned shifts.

Volunteers will volunteer on-site, supporting patients, visitors and residents. Remote or virtual roles are not available.

Volunteers do not perform medical tasks or any duties that conflict with labor relations collective agreements.

Recruitment opens: Monday, February 2

Recruitment closes: Friday, February 13

Interview scheduling: Students selected to move forward will be contacted between March 2 and March 12 to arrange a virtual interview
Students who are interested in volunteering this summer can email volunteer@lh.ca to receive and submit the initial questionnaire.
We are grateful to all students who take the time to express interest in volunteering at Lakeridge Health. Due to the high volume of interest we receive each year, only those selected to move forward with an interview will be contacted.
