Preparing for a hospital stay can feel a bit uncertain, but knowing what to expect can help make the experience more comfortable. Whether you’re coming for a short visit or a longer stay, this page is designed to help you feel prepared by sharing what to bring, what to leave at home, and what services are available during your time with us.

What to Bring

Please make sure to bring your Ontario Health Card whenever you are coming to the hospital.

We also suggest you bring the following items, especially if you're staying overnight or longer:

  • Health card and insurance
  • Mobility aids
  • Medications
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Shoes with a grip
  • Pajamas and a robe
  • Glasses or contact lenses
  • Dentures
  • Hearing aids
  • Toiletries
  • Cell phone and charger
  • Headphones and books

Mobility Devices

We are committed to making your stay with us as comfortable as possible. If you use a mobility device, such as a wheelchair, cane, or walker, we encourage you to bring your own for added comfort and familiarity as you move throughout our sites. 

If you do not bring your own, Staxi mobility chairs are available near our front entrances or upon request to support you during your stay. 

Please Do Not Bring:

  • Jewelry 
  • Money or credit cards
  • Scented products
  • Latex balloons
  • Drugs or alcohol
  • Weapons or sharp objects
